How to fold a bathrobe like in a luxury hotel?

Nothing embodies elegance and attention to detail better than the impeccable presentation of a bathrobe in luxury hotels. This small gesture, often overlooked at home, can transform the ambiance of your bathroom into a true sanctuary of well-being.

Discover our tips for folding your bathrobe with refinement, as if you were in one of the world’s most prestigious hotels.

Why folding your bathrobe?

Of course, folding your personal bathrobes like in a hotel adds a touch of sophistication and elegance to your bathroom. It elevates a simple bathing routine into a more refined experience, evoking the sense of care and attention found in a luxurious setting.

But that’s not all—there are also practical benefits to folding a bathrobe instead of simply hanging it on a hook or hanger! First, a properly folded bathrobe maintains its shape and fresh appearance, preventing unsightly wrinkles that might otherwise make it less enjoyable to wear. Additionally, careful folding helps protect the fabric fibers, thereby extending the lifespan of the robe.

Lastly, one of the most significant advantages is space-saving. To optimize storage in a bathroom, closet, or even a suitcase when traveling with your bath linens, folding your bathrobe correctly is highly recommended. It’s worth noting that if maximizing space is your only concern, the folding technique may vary accordingly.

How to fold a bathrobe like at a hotel?

Depending on the weight and material, a bathrobe can be quite thick, which might seem intimidating to fold, but it’s actually quite simple. Start by ensuring the bathrobe is completely dry and remove the belt.

  1. Lay the bathrobe flat on a surface.
Place the bathrobe on a table or another flat surface with the back facing you. Smooth out any wrinkles to ensure the fabric is flat and even.

  2. Fold the sleeves toward the center.
Gently fold each sleeve inward toward the center of the bathrobe. Align the sleeves with the side edges to maintain perfect symmetry.

  3. Bring the sides toward the center.
Fold both sides of the bathrobe toward the middle so they touch or slightly overlap. This step reduces the width and prepares the bathrobe for the final folds.

  4. Fold the bathrobe into three or four sections, depending on its length.
Starting from the bottom, fold the bathrobe up to the midsection. Then fold again until the top edge meets the bottom. Smooth out each fold as you go to keep the fabric neat and free of bulges.

  5. Position the belt.
Place the belt across the center of the folded bathrobe, wrap it carefully around, and tie it at the front to keep everything secure. This finishing touch ensures the bathrobe maintains a professional and polished look.

And there you have it! Your bathrobe is ready to be stored in a closet or displayed in the bathroom. You can also place it on a guest bed for a warm and elegant welcome!

How to fold your bathrobe to save place?

To pack your bathrobe for travel in a suitcase, it needs to be folded as compactly as possible. The method is slightly different: start by ensuring your bathrobe is clean and dry, remove the belt, and then lay it flat with the back facing you.

Fold the sleeves symmetrically toward the center of the back of the bathrobe. Next, instead of making 2 or 3 folds along the length of the bathrobe, roll it from the bottom up. The tighter you can roll the bathrobe, the more space you'll save. Finally, you can tie the belt around your rolled bathrobe to keep it secure.

Other care tips

For your RKF Home Dreamsoft™ or honeycomb bathrobe, follow our recommendations for optimal care to prolong the lifespan of your bath linen. Start by washing your bathrobe at 60°C, a temperature that ensures optimal cleanliness while preserving the quality of the fibers.

Avoid using bleaching products, as they may damage the fabric, but feel free to use a fabric softener to maintain the softness and suppleness of the bathrobe.

For drying, RKF Home recommends using a tumble dryer, ensuring the temperature does not exceed 70°C to protect the fibers and maintain the bathrobe's plushness. Lastly, avoid ironing the bathrobe to preserve its texture and volume.
